Satoshi Katakami is a partner of the firm. Mr. Katakami’s practice focuses on corporate rehabilitation, bankruptcy and insolvency, litigation and arbitration, and general corporate.

Mr. Katakami has represented clients in a variety of litigation in such areas as insurance disputes, pension disputes, completion law matters, and shareholder derivative suits. He has also represented clients in proceedings before the Fair Trade Commission of Japan and Labor Relations Commissions. Mr. Katakami worked at the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan (currently Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan) for a few years, where he acquired expertise in corporate restructuring, rehabilitation and insolvency matters. He has served as counsel for the applicant or the court-appointed trustee in a number of bankruptcy and corporate rehabilitation cases.

Mr. Katakami has published articles in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency laws and corporate pension funds.

Mr. Katakami was admitted to the Bar of Japan in 2001. He joined Ishii Law Office in 2001 and became a partner in 2012. He received an LL.B. degree from The University of Tokyo in 1999. He worked at the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan (currently Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan) from 2009 to 2012. Mr. Katakami is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association and the Japan Federation of Bar Associations. He speaks Japanese and English.
